Heptacodium miconioides

Known as the Seven Son flower, H. miconioides is an award-winning ornamental shrub that provides unique, year-round interest. From late summer to early fall, this large, fountain-shaped, multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub provides whirling clusters of fragrant, creamy-white flowers and purplish-red sepals at the ends of branches. Flowers eventually give way to highly showy crops of purplish-red fruits. In ideal conditions the shrub can grow 20 ft in height and 10 ft wide. Not only is this a beautiful shrub but it is a great addition to the pollinator garden providing much needed fall nectar for butterflies and hummingbirds. Plant in zones 5-9 and in full sun or light shade.
