Although the Pin Oak tends to prefer soil that is more on the acidic side they will adapt to Okanagan soils if planted in burms with amended topsoil. They are a long lived tree with horizontal branching habit and fall colour ranging from yellow to orange red, depending on the strain. Very little maintenance is required on this slow growing large tree.
